JUNE 26th – Random Potion visited several international events to present Project Scoundrel’s game concept to game publishers and industry peers. Motivated by the feedback, company’s next step is to produce a playable demo of the game.
Random Potion has had an exciting spring behind presenting Project Scoundrel in several international events. The team’s goal was to test the game concept further and conferences were a great place to meet publishers and industry peers that gave them valuable feedback and motivated the team to continue their ambitious journey.
The first event was Reboot Develop Croatia in April. Concept artist and game designer Tuomas Salmela says that “Project Scoundrel was regarded as an interesting concept with gamers, developers and some publishers alike at Reboot. The game’s social mechanics gave rise to a lot of thought and deep interest, sparking in-depth conversations with many groups of people. The graphics were given praise despite our game having been in the very early stages and we had only a few pictures to show for it.”
Project Scoundrel was also positively received in Nordic Game. ”Our game got seriously positive feedback in most of our publisher meetings; quite a few of them wanted to get their hands on the game already and wanted us to keep them posted with further developments in regards to a playable demo, project information and budget. All in all, Project Scoundrel garnered heavy interest from players, developers and publishers alike,” says Tuomas.
Now it’s time to develop Project Scoundrel to the next level for Gamescom in August. “Our aim is to introduce a demo version of the game that has a multiplayer adventure for a group of four people. The demo will give a taste of the social mechanics that form an important part of the game feel”, says CEO Arto Koistinen. A complete vertical slice is scheduled for Game Connection Europe in November.
